Francis Loughran Peacefully and on his own terms Francie passed away in the City Hospital on Friday, 28th August.

He is the son of the late Andrew Francis Loughran and Eileen (McCabe) Loughran, whom he lovingly referred to as ‘Big Eileen’. He is a father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

North Belfast born and bred, he is well known in and around Ardoyne, where he lived for over forty-five years. He loved the Ardoyne community and refused to move even when he could no longer care for himself.

He never made it easy to love him, but he was and is loved.

His sisters Maeve and Angela fully acknowledge that as a child of God, he is deeply loved by Jesus to whom he has now found the peace that evaded him in this life. Maeve and Angela wish to express their profound gratitude to all his friends and neighbours for their support and care of him over the last forty-five years. May God bless you all for your kindness, care and long suffering.

Francis will be reposing in P J Brown Funeral Home 420 Oldpark Road Belfast on Wednesday and Thursday 10.00 to 5.00pm

Francis Requiem Mass is on Friday 4th September 2026 at 10.00am followed by Cremation in Roselawn Crematorium at 12.40
